Catalonias is a autonomous community and situated in the North East of Spain and is considered one of the most economically dynamic regions of Spain. The Costa Daurada is the coastal area of the south of Catalonia. The Capital is Tarragona and its area of influence covers ten counties and 183 municipalities. Catalonia borders to the north with France, on the other side of the Pyrenees Mountains, to the south with the region of Valencia and to the west with Aragon.
Catalonia is unspoilt and full of surprises, from the mountains of Tortosa to the golden beaches of L'Ampolla, the contrast in scenery are immense. The River Ebro, from Riba Roja, passing through Benifallet and Tortosa and onto the Ebro Delta, which meanders through the fruit orchards makes a surprising contrast with the more arid conditions near the coast, although all along the vast stretches of beach are olive groves and beautiful almond and citrus trees.
